Incident Management & Operations in CMRL

This project is to develop a comprehensive application for Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) Operations Department. The application aims to enhance operational efficiency, passenger services, and incident management through digitalization and modern technologies. The quantitative measures for attaining this enhancement include efficient record-keeping, streamlined workflows, the establishment of safe working areas free from incidents and accidents, and optimized reaction times for emergencies. This project seeks to achieve these objectives, ensuring a measurable improvement in Metro rail operations.

Our Challenge


=> Design, Development, Testing and Implementation of Web & Mobile Application for

Digitalisation of Registers, Workflow, Processes and Reports in CMRL Operations Department,

including Training and necessary software, hardware, equipments/ consumables which shall run on all

locations of CMRL and location specified by CMRL.

=> The proposed application would be an internet-based application running from a

centralized location. The application would follow a modular architecture where in different modules

would interact and share data between themselves.

1. Key Module Functionalities:

1.1. Operation Management Module:

A. Registers and Manuals: Develop a module for the digitalization of operation

registers, Instructions and manuals to streamline information retrieval and ensure realtime

access to operational documentation.(Refer table no.1 for the tentative list)

a) Registers- Input data, store data, update data, submit data, retrieve data ,report

generation.

b) Manuals – Input data, store data ,update data and refer data

c) Instructions-Input data, store data , notify users, acknowledgement by Users,

record and report generation.

B. Process/ Workflow: Develop a module to digitalise the work procedure which

require step by step Workflow and real time system with authorisation/acknowledgment

/approval /rejection/transfer in CMRL (Refer table no.2 for the tentative list)

1.2. Passenger Service:

A. Location-Based QR for Grievance-Feedback-Suggestion: Implement a locationbased

QR system to facilitate passenger communication by providing a platform for

grievances, feedback, and suggestions. The system should integrate with the current

CMRL system.

1.3. Digitalization of OCC Incident Management Protocol: Develop a robust module for

the digitalization of Operations Control Centre (OCC) incident management

procedure/protocol. This should integrate CMRL procedure for real-time incident

management, tracking, and report functionalities. The Module captures recording of

incidents , protocol to be followed, actions taken with incident timer recording.
